Hillsborough
Resident's Association is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers
from the Hillsborough community. The association's aim is to promote
a safe, healthy and thriving community for both residents and visitors
to Hillsborough. The Association was formed in September 2005, initially
to campaign against extended licensing hours for the pubs around Hillsborough
corner. The group played a key part in restricting the opening hours
by putting forward the concerns of residents long troubled by irresponsible
drinkers. Spurred on by this success the Association was fully constituted
and awarded a small grant for amongst other things publicity. This grant
is helping to support this web site and to publicise the group but as
with any voluntary organisation Hillsborough Residents relies on local
volunteers and support. Public meetings are held on the first wednesday
of every month at 6:30 pm. The meetings are currently being hosted by
Hillsborough Arena Sports
Association

Where
possible meetings are themed, this allows key people to be invited to
address the meeting and answer questions. Residents are invited to raise
any issues about Hillsborough either by contacting us directly or better
still coming along to a meeting. For a big issue please try to give
us a little notice and have a think about possible solutions as well
as problems. For an overview of current campaigns
and meetings just follow the links.
